Research Seminars and Consults for Baystate Medical Faculty and Residents

The following information is provided about a new series of seminars and open sessions to assist researchers in conducting research.

Faculty Development Seminars in Clinical Research
Paul Visintainer, PhD, Director of Epidemiology, and Biostatistics, is leading a series of research seminars for faculty, residents, and fellows scheduled on Thursdays in February through May.  Lectures will be provided by the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Core Faculty, as well as invited faculty from the Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI).  Lectures will usually be 45-60 minutes in length and will allow time for discussion with the speaker. Upcoming seminars are listed below, and are updated monthly on the Events page in the Academics@Baystate newsletter.

Open Sessions for Research Consulting
Following the Faculty Development Seminars in Clinical Research, scheduled on Thursdays in February through May, the Epidemiology and Biostatics Core Faculty will also hold “open session” forums from 3-4 pm. During the open session period, faculty, clinicians, and residents are welcome to drop-in and talk with us about issues related specifically to their research or discuss more general questions relating to data analysis and study design.  While we are always available by appointment to discuss projects, we hope these open sessions will make access to our research support program more convenient.

Individual Consulting
The staff of Academic Affairs continues to be available to meet with you individually to answer questions and provide research support.
For Epidemiology and Biostatistics, please e-mail Paul Visintainer or call 794-7686 for assistance.
For the IRB, please e-mail Lisandra Gonzalez or Marybeth Kennedy or call 794-4356 for assistance.

The schedule for the research seminars in February, March, and April is here. These events are updated monthly in the Events section of the Academics@Baystate newsletter.
